Sanctioned Tournaments |
![]() |
The Sanctioned Tournaments room has both scheduled tournaments
and ongoing eight-player events. This and the Premier
Events room are the only places with events that affect your Magic
Online
ratings.
The main difference is tournaments in the Premier Events room are
planned further in advance than ones in the Sanctioned Play room,
and sometimes require competing in qualifying events.
See Tournaments for information about joining a tournament. |
In each 8-player room there's a queue for each available format. For example, in the Constructed 8-Player room you'll find Standard, Odyssey Block Constructed, and Invasion Block Constructed. In spreadsheet view, the list shows the available formats. To join, select a format and click Join in the bottom right corner. In graphic view, point your mouse at a Click to Join table to see what format it is. Click a table to join that queue.
A queue is like a line of players waiting to get into a tournament. Every few minutes, the game checks to see if there are at least twelve players in a queue. If there are, as many new eight-player tournaments are created as possible. The game also checks to see if there are at least eight players in a queue that have been waiting for more than a few minutes. If so, a new tournament starts with those players in it.
Players in a queue that aren't selected when a new tournament starts
will automatically get into the next tournament begun from that queue.
